Taro and Short Rib Soup


Today we have a healthy, yet hearty soup that is very refreshing. This soup is not time consuming at all an can be done in under 45 minutes of cook and prep time. Please enjoy:) 

  • 1/2 of a large taro or one small taro (cut into small chunks) 
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp of sugar 
  • 1 tbsp of chicken stalk mix
  • 2 Steams of green onion 
  • 1 lb of pork short-ribs
  • 1 tbsp of oil 
  • 1 tsp of minced garlic 
  1. Have a small pot of boiling water and add in the short ribs to cook; no more than half way, then drain the meat 
  2. In another pot add in oil and minced garlic, fry until slightly golden brown. add in the short ribs, salt, sugar, chicken mix and then fry until the meat is fully seasoned 
  3. Add in about 4-5 cups of water or chicken stalk (preferably) then let it simmer on medium heat for 20 minutes 
  4. After 20 mins add in the taro chunks and then let it simmer for 10 minutes
  5. Then you can add in your green onion and black pepper
