Kreung- lemongrass paste

  • 2 stalks of lemongrass
  • 10-15 small to medium sized kafir lime leave
  • 2 two inch turmeric pieces
  • 1/4 root of galangal (small piece 1-2 inches) 
  • 10 garlic cloves 
  • 2 teaspoon of salt 
  1. In a mortar and pestle add in the finely chopped lemongrass, kafir lime leaves, turmeric and galangal; pound the ingredients for 5-10 minutes then add in the 10 gloves of garlic, then proceed to add the 2 tsp of salt; pound for another 5-10 minutes and you are done
  2. You can individually pack the paste in small single-use bags 
  3. Keep in mind that you can use a food processor for this recipe but a mortar and pestle brings out the best of the individual ingredients.
