Steamed Sweet Corn Cake (Khmer Dessert)


It is a Khmer dessert that cannot found easily nowadays. This sweet is a one type of Khmer steamed cake that using sweet corn mixed with another flours and coconut milk, then steamed until done. Normally we will found this steamed cake made from banana, taro and pumpkin. If you can find sweet corn at your local market, you should try to make this one.

  • 250g of sweet corn
  • 25g of tapioca flour
  • 50g of rice flour
  • 150g of sugar
  • ½ cup of ripe coconut, shredded
  • 1 ½ cup of coconut milk
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • Food coloring
  1. Mix coconut milk, salt, sugar, rice flour, tapioca flour and sweet corn bend together.
  2. Drop yellow food coloring and mix well.
  3. Pour into cup and steam 20-25 minutes.
  4. Cool down and remove from cup.
  5. Top with coconut shredded before serve. Ready to serve.
