Jackfruit and Sticky rice (Nom ansaom khnor)


Jackfruit and Sticky rice is the Khmer desert. It make from Jackfruit sticky rice and coconut milk. The Khmer people always make it in traditional. It’s sweet and yummy.


  • 1 package of frozen banana leafs
  • 1 lb of jackfruit
  • 16 oz or 1 pkg of shredded coconut
  • 1 kilo of sticky rice
  • 1 large can of coconut milk
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ cup of sugar


  1. Rinse rice with cold water for 3-4 times then soaking the rice over night. Rinse rice with cold water for 2-3 times (Soaking it helps the rice soak up the flavor from the jackfruit and the coconut milk) and keep it dry.
  2. Cut the top and bottom of the banana leaves. Wipe the leave on both side.
  3. On high heat, add in coconut milk, shredded coconut, salt and sugar simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes add in jackfruit and rice fry for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes it should be a sticky consistency. Let it cool before wrapping.
  6. Add 2-3 spoonfuls of rice on banana and flatten the rolling (it takes some practice but once you get used to it starts going by fast).
  7. After you done, steam them for 30-40 minutes. Ready to serve. Ready to serve.
